Steph Turnbull #RUN4ERC
Story
I'm taking part in the 2014 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise much needed funds for Edmund Rice Camps.
This October, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete a gruelling course through the streets of Melbourne and ending back at the world famous 'G!
I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.
I am running 10km in the Melbourne Marathon for the asylum seeker families that I work with that are living in community detention. The money that will be raised from the run will be put towards sending the families on a weekend away with Edmund Rice Camps. ERC have been organising breaks for vulnerable children and families for the past 30 years.
The families I work with inspire me every day, they are the strongest most resilient, brave and joyful people I have ever met despite their uncertain future. These families would benefit greatly from a weekend break to have fun, relax, build self esteem and build relationships.
It would be great if you could make a tax deductable donation towards my cause and support Edmund Rice Camps.

Thank you for your support and helping to make a difference
Activity
Edmund Rice Camps Inc
Edmund Rice Camps is a not for profit charity based in Melbourne.
We connect young volunteers (or young at heart!), to kids and families living in disadvantaged situations. We use residential camps and recreational activities to create opportunities for role modeling positive behavior and to build self-confidence. In 2015 we will run 12 camps for different groups including: Asylum Seekers living in Community Detention, Refugees, Migrants, Indigenous groups and low-socio economic families.
With a 1:1 ratio, kids and volunteers come together to have fun, relax, learn from each other and the have the holiday experience all kids deserve. Visit our website www.ercvic.com.
