NCFH - Run 4 Farmer Health

Story

Thank you so much for running with us and supporting us in our inaugural Run 4 Farmer Health at the Melbourne Marathon Festival, 2014.

We are very pleased to report that the Run 4 Farmer Health was a huge success with over 130 participants and over $22,000 raised for the National Centre for Farmer Health. We are ecstatic with the result and have well and truly blitzed our goal of $20,000 all thanks to hard work in fundraising put in by many of our team members and team Murray Goulburn. In the lead up to the event many of our runners raised funds by organising events, raffles, morning teas, and trivia nights just to name a few. Thank you to all those who raised funds, we know how much of a task it can be. You can also see over page a list of our top fundraisers for the event to date.

To everyone who ran and walked with us on the day, thank you so much for raising awareness for farmer health and the National Centre for Farmer Health. We received very positive feedback on the team morale and feeling of unity. All divisions of the festival were strongly supported by all from the very young to the more experienced of us and from the 42km marathon down to the 3km walk. Many of our team members and families completed distances for the first time, congratulations on your super efforts! Special mention to team member Ed Kus who, true to his word, ran the last 12 hot and sunny kilometres of his marathon in a cow onesie! We managed to get some great photos of this so thank you Ed! If you haven’t seen these photos head to our Facebook page cow onesie time.

Our final thanks must go to the organisations— Victorian Farmers Federation, ParkLabs and Legendairy— that made the Run 4 Farmer Health possible through their organisation, support and sponsorship.

Thank you for making Run 4 Farmer Health a great event and we look forward to running with you in 2015.

Yours Sincerely

Sue and National Centre for Farmer Health team
