Story
Everyone has a hero in their life, someone that motivates them to be a better person, to achieve their goals and follow their dreams. I am lucky enough to have my father as that person. In April 2012 dad underwent heart surgery at Epworth Hospital in Richmond. Watching dad through his recovery made me realise the strength of an individual. I am forever grateful for the work and support that Epworth provided. In addition to this I would personally like to thank cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr Silvana Marasco. I am currently training for the 2014 Melbourne Marathon and aim to raise money for Epworth Medical Foundation. Any donation will be gratefully accepted, thank you for your support in this journey.

Epworth Medical Foundation
Epworth Medical Foundation was established 40 years ago to generate vitally needed funds that support the activities of Epworth HealthCare, ensuring its patients receive the best possible care and outcomes.
Epworth HealthCare receives no direct government funding. It therefore relies on the generosity of its community to enable it to stay at the forefront of advancements in medical technology.
The Foundation has a range of initiatives through which members of the community can support Epworth HealthCare. These include special and gala events, memorial and bequest giving, direct mail appeals, auxiliaries and funding through trusts and foundations.
Funds raised by the Epworth Medical Foundation are used to contribute to and improve the excellence in medical care provided by Epworth HealthCare. For example, past donations and appeals have enabled the Foundation to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, fund nursing scholarships, develop research programs, and construct and renovate buildings.
Thanks to the generosity of Epworth Medical Foundation’s donors and supporters, Epworth HealthCare continues to deliver the very best in life-saving care.
