Running the Melbourne Marathon to raise money for the Helen Moran Gift!
Story
I'm running the Melbourne Marathon (42.2 km) on October 12 to raise money for the Dr Helen Moran Gift; please support this worthy cause!
This prize is awarded annually in recognition of the contribution my mother made to improving the health of those with musculoskeletal disease during her career as a rheumatologist.

"Dr Helen Moran’s career and her distinguished service to her patients will continue to be remembered and honoured by the establishment of an award in her name; The Helen Moran Gift. It is awarded annually by Arthritis and Osteoporosis Victoria. The gift recognises research that advances the vision of Arthritis and Osteoporosis Victoria: for the best possible musculoskeletal health and wellbeing for all Victorians. The purpose of this award is to encourage the career of emerging rheumatologists and early career musculoskeletal researchers to undertake clinical, epidemiologic or health services research."
Please donate to support research into musculoskeletal diseases, while I ironically inflict some serious musculoskeletal pain on myself by completing my first full marathon!

Activity
Musculoskeletal Australia
Musculoskeletal Australia is a community organisation, supporting people for better musculoskeletal health for over 50 years. We work on behalf of the 7 million Australians with conditions like arthritis and back pain and more than 150 different musculoskeletal conditions. Our focus is on providing information, education, and empathetic support for individuals and families: we care about people and their personal conditions and circumstances. We also undertake policy and advocacy work on behalf of all Australians who have musculoskeletal conditions.
With one in three Australians having a musculoskeletal condition, chances are someone you know will benefit from the free services we provide.
